Who is Anam Sher Khan? Pakistani Police Officer Receives International Award in Dubai

Pakistani Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anam Sher Khan has received the prestigious Criminal Investigation Award 2025 in Dubai for her exceptional work in solving high-profile criminal cases.

According to a spokesperson from Punjab Police, the award was presented by the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police during a ceremony held at the Dubai World Trade Center.

This international honor recognizes ASP Anam Sher Khan’s exemplary investigative abilities and leadership, bringing positive global attention to the professionalism of Pakistan’s law enforcement. She earned the award for her successful handling of two major murder investigations in Punjab.

In the first case, she oversaw the investigation into the brutal killing of 12-year-old domestic worker Ayesha Bibi. Under her leadership, Sargodha Police arrested the suspects within 72 hours, receiving praise from the public and government officials, including the Chief Minister of Punjab.

In another case, she led the prompt arrest of suspects involved in the murder of a young man named Mohsin, ensuring justice was served within 24 hours.

Both investigations reflected her strong command of criminal procedures and dedication to timely, impartial justice. Her efforts had previously earned her official recognition and appreciation from the Punjab Police.

Inspector-General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, called her selection for the award a proud moment for Pakistan’s police force.

The award selection process involved strict scrutiny and interviews, during which two Punjab Police officers were shortlisted. DPO Kasur Mohammad Esa Khan received the second award for “Best Artificial Intelligence Implementation in Policing.”

Police representatives from 192 countries participated in the event, which celebrated exceptional achievements in various categories. The Inspector-General praised both officers for projecting a positive image of Pakistan on the international stage.
