Who Is Sophia Laforteza?

Sophia was born on December 31, 2002, in the Philippines. She is 21 years old and a proud Capricorn. Her rise to fame started early. She began singing when she was just 3 years old and started dancing by age 5.

She trained in many dance styles like ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and musical theatre. Sophia grew up in a creative family. Her mother, Carla Guevara-Laforteza, is a famous stage actress and singer. Her father, Basilio Godfrey Laforteza III, was a dancer and is now a top chef. Sophia also has an older brother named Luke Gregory.

She graduated high school with top honors, receiving 10 awards and 7 medals. Sophia speaks both English and Tagalog fluently.

How She Joined KATSEYE

Sophia got her big chance on the reality show The Debut: Dream Academy, a project from HYBE and Geffen Records. The show featured 20 young women from around the world who trained like K-pop idols. It aired live on social media and gained a big following.
