Jackie Chan is married to Joan Lin, a former Taiwanese actress. The couple met in 1981 and got married in a private ceremony in Los Angeles in 1982. Their relationship has lasted over four decades, despite facing challenges, including Chan’s infidelity.
“In 1999, I made a serious mistake.
When the news broke about an affair I’d had that resulted in a child, the media frenzy was like a bomb going off. I wanted to phone Joan, but I didn’t know what to say. I wouldn’t be able to explain this,” Jackie revealed in his autobiography Never Grow Up (via People).

Joan Lin’s Career
Joan Lin is best known for her successful acting career in Taiwanese cinema during the 1970s and 1980s. She made her debut in The Hero of Chiu Chow in 1972. Her standout performance in The Story of a Small Town (1979) earned her the Golden Horse Award for Best Leading Actress. Lin’s film credits include My Native Land, The Battle for the Republic of China, and Spring in Autumn. She retired from acting after marrying Chan.
Joan Lin’s Children
Joan Lin and Jackie Chan have one son together — Jaycee Chan, born on December 3, 1982. Jaycee pursued a career in acting and music but faced a setback after being arrested in Beijing in 2014 for marijuana use. Although their relationship was strained, they later reconciled.
