Who is Yurii Tkachenko?

Yurii Tkachenko is more than just a coach. He’s been a key figure in Usyk’s boxing journey. In January 2025, he was honored as Trainer of the Year 2024, recognizing his exceptional work in developing world-class talent.

Though Tkachenko was once a boxer himself, his professional career was brief. He fought only twice and lost both matches—first to Fiodor Czerkaszyn in 2015 and then to Nikita Basin in 2019. But it’s in the corner of the ring where he found his true calling.
