Who Is Andini Permata, Why she trending on X?

19 July, 2025 16:01

A viral video of a girl named Andini Permata started trending on social media on Wednesday, July 17, 2025. The clip appeared suddenly on platforms like Twitter, TikTok, and Telegram. People started searching for her name after a 2-minute 31-second video spread online.

In the video, a young girl is seen dancing to music. The beat is called “jedag-jedug,” a popular style in Indonesia. But what shocked viewers was the presence of a small boy in one part of the video. This caused concerns about possible child exploitation.

Multiple Versions Online

Later, people discovered more video parts. Some reports say there are up to 8 different clips. These videos were shared widely. Many people tried to download or watch them using unofficial links.

But here’s the danger — most of these links were fake. Clicking on them could install viruses, steal your data, or harm your phone. Some users said their phones became slow after clicking. Others reported pop-ups and strange calls.

Who Is Andini Permata?

Until now, no one has confirmed who she is. Authorities and experts believe “Andini Permata” is not a real name. It could be made up just to spread viral content. Many believe this is part of a phishing scam. The name is just bait.

There is also talk that the videos were shot in East Java, maybe in the Sidoarjo area. But there is no proof yet. Police have not shared any updates on this.

Legal & Government Response

Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) gave a warning. They asked people not to open any strange links or download unknown videos. If a child is really involved, the case could break several laws, like the Child Protection Law and the ITE Law (Electronic Information and Transactions).

The government is now checking if the clips violate national laws.

How to Stay Safe

  1. Do not click random video links, even if shared by friends.

  2. Avoid entering your personal data like phone number or email.

  3. Use an antivirus app to check your phone.

  4. Report anything suspicious to aduankonten.id, the official complaint site.

  5. Tell your friends and family not to forward or share the video.

Public Reaction

Many social media users said this is another example of clickbait scams. They feel that using fake names and faces to go viral is dangerous. People also worry about how fast misinformation can spread.
