Who is MK Dons’ Latest Signing Marvin Ekpiteta? All details

MK Dons have signed Marvin Ekpiteta, a strong centre-back from Hibernian. The 29-year-old defender hopes for an injury-free season after a tough campaign with the Scottish Premiership club.

Ekpiteta, who stands tall at 6 feet 4 inches, played only 28 games for Hibernian last season. He scored on his debut for the Edinburgh club but faced several injuries that kept him out after February.

Born in London, Marvin began his football career in the lower leagues. He started at Oxford United’s academy before moving to Chelmsford City in 2014, competing in the National League South.

He spent two years with Chelmsford and then played for Concord Rangers and East Thurrock United. His big break came when he joined Leyton Orient in the National League.

At Leyton Orient, Ekpiteta became a key player. In the 2018/19 season, he helped the team win promotion back to the English Football League by scoring six goals in 40 matches.

In the EFL, he played 32 games, attracting attention from bigger clubs. This led to a move to Blackpool in League One in 2020.

At Blackpool, Marvin enjoyed his most successful spell. He helped the team earn promotion to the Championship in his first season. Over four years, he made nearly 150 appearances and scored 12 goals.

Last summer, he moved to Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership. Ekpiteta admitted adapting to the Scottish game was harder than expected. He started well but then lost his place after November, playing only a few minutes in the rest of the season.

Now, Ekpiteta is ready for a fresh start with MK Dons. Fans hope he can stay fit and bring his experience to help the team this season.
