Reena Roy’s Sister Is Barkha Roy

Reena Roy started her acting career in 1972 with the film Zaroorat. Her sister, Barkha Roy, debuted in 1982 but as a film producer, not an actress. Her first film as a producer was Sanam Teri Kasam, released on May 14, 1982.

This movie starred Kamal Haasan, Reena Roy, and Jagdeep. The story was written by Kader Khan, and the music was by the famous RD Burman, who won his first Filmfare Award for it. The film was a big hit at the box office.

Only Four Films Produced by Barkha Roy

Barkha Roy produced just four films in her career. After Sanam Teri Kasam, she made Karishma in 1984, again starring Kamal Haasan and Reena Roy. Actress Tina Munim also appeared in this film. It did well commercially.

Her other projects included the TV show Eena-Meena-Deeka in 2000 and the film Green Commando of India in 2020. Barkha also made a film called My Friend Hussain, which won two awards at the San Francisco Global Fest. She donated her prize money of $10,000 to charity.

Despite these works, only her first production was a true hit.

Personal Life and Current Status

Barkha Roy was married to well-known Bollywood villain actor Mahesh Anand, but they later divorced. She then married Raju Khan, son of famous choreographer Saroj Khan.

Like her sister Reena Roy, Barkha has stayed away from the public eye in recent years. She is no longer active in the film industry and prefers a private life away from Bollywood’s limelight.
