Who is Baysangur Susurkaev? Khamzat Chimaev’s Teammate Set for Fast UFC Debut at UFC 319

15 August, 2025 14:03

Baysangur Susurkaev is making one of the quickest turnarounds in UFC history. Just days after winning his fight on Dana White’s Contender Series, he is stepping into the octagon again — this time for his official UFC debut at UFC 319.

The 24-year-old fighter from Chechnya impressed fans with a knockout win against Murtaza Talha earlier this week. His victory came from a sharp kick to the body, ending the fight in style and earning him a UFC contract.

Now, Susurkaev will face Eric Nolan on August 16 in the UFC 319 prelims. It’s a huge opportunity, but also a tough challenge, as Nolan is a former CFFC Champion.

From Chechnya to the UFC

Baysangur Susurkaev, known by his nickname “Hunter,” was born on January 8, 2001. He is six feet two inches tall (188 cm), fights in the Middleweight division (185 lbs limit), and has a long reach of 79 inches (201 cm).

He trains alongside UFC superstar Khamzat Chimaev, who is also headlining UFC 319. The two have been sparring partners for years, with Susurkaev helping Chimaev prepare for big fights, including his title bout against Dricus du Plessis.

The Contender Series Breakthrough

Fans first saw Susurkaev on the ninth season of Dana White’s Contender Series, where he fought Talha. He looked calm, confident, and in control from start to finish. His well-timed kick ended the fight suddenly, proving his power and precision.

That performance impressed UFC president Dana White, who immediately offered him a contract.

Life Outside the Octagon

Susurkaev is active on Instagram under the handle @realhuntermma, where he has over 50,000 followers. He shares training videos, fight highlights, and personal moments with fans. While he doesn’t use X (formerly Twitter), his Instagram presence is growing fast.

An Unbeaten Record

Susurkaev enters the UFC with an 8-0 record, all wins by knockout or TKO. His style is aggressive, technical, and exciting — exactly what fans love to see.

As UFC 319 approaches, all eyes will be on this rising Chechen talent. A win against Nolan could launch his career in one of the most competitive divisions in the sport.
