Who is Sir Anwar Pervez? Business Tycoon Declared Pakistan’s Richest Man

The Economic Policy and Business Development think tank on Friday released a report identifying Pakistan’s richest business magnates, placing Bestway Group founder Sir Anwar Pervez at the top with total corporate investments valued at $3.62 billion.

In second place is the Fauji Foundation, with investments worth $2.25 billion, followed by the Tabeer Group at $1.88 billion. Pakistan Tobacco Company ranks fourth with $1.18 billion, while Mir Shakilur Rahman’s Ibrahim Group stands fifth at $1 billion.

The Aga Khan Group holds sixth place with investments of $954 million, followed by Mian Mansha at $920 million. The Packages Group, led by Syed Babar Ali, is valued at $1.6 billion, placing it among the nation’s top corporate giants.

Other major names include:

• Gohar Ejaz of Lake City Holdings – $2.5 billion

• Dawood Group – $2.39 billion

• Meezan Group – $2.38 billion

• Arif Habib Group – $1.57 billion

• Attock Group – $1.35 billion

• Sapphire Group – $1.2 billion

• House of Habib – $1.17 billion

The billionaire list also features Fawad Mukhtar of Fatima Group, Sardar Yasin Malik, Habibullah Khan, Sheikh Muhammad Javed, Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, Bashir Jan Muhammad, Mian Aamir Mehmood, Nasreen Kasuri, Jahangir Tareen, and Aleem Khan.

According to the think tank, Pakistan currently has 40 billionaire business families, with 35 emerging in the last 50 years. Despite shifting market dynamics, legacy names such as Syed Babar Ali, Habib Rafiq, Hussain Dawood, and the Tariq Saigol Group continue to hold their place among Pakistan’s billionaire elite.

The report also ranked Pakistan’s 20 largest publicly listed companies.
