Who is Azbia Khan? Model Booked for Bold Shoot at Wazir Khan Masjid in Lahore

Lahore, August 2025 – A case has been registered against Pakistani model Azbia Khan and photographer Zain Shah for filming a bold video inside the historic Wazir Khan Masjid in Lahore.

The First Information Report (FIR) was lodged by Mohammad Awais, an officer of the Walled City Lahore Authority (WCLA). According to the complaint, the video was recorded without any permission and showed the model wearing an “inappropriate outfit” inside the mosque premises.

The clip was filmed nearly four days ago and later uploaded on social media, where it quickly went viral. The footage sparked public outrage, with many users criticizing it as disrespectful and a violation of the mosque’s sanctity. Authorities said the act not only hurt religious sentiments but also damaged the reputation of the WCLA.

Officials recalled that this was not the first such controversy. Back in August 2020, singer Bilal Saeed and actress Saba Qamar also faced legal action after a music video shot inside the same mosque went viral. That incident led the Punjab Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department to ban the filming of dramas, movies, and other entertainment projects in mosques and shrines across the province.

The latest case has once again raised questions about the implementation of restrictions and the need for strict monitoring to prevent similar incidents in the future.
