Seychelles: Pakistani athletes delivered an outstanding performance at a challenging 22-kilometer trail running competition held on the East African island of Seychelles, securing multiple top positions. Waqar Ahmad Nasir claimed first place, marking a significant achievement for Pakistan in this international event.

The Pakistani team also secured four more spots within the top 10, highlighting their dominance in the competition.

Among the top performers, Umar Zaman finished in second place, while Shahzad Awan secured fourth. In the women’s category, Anum Uzair and Neelab finished in the top 10, further contributing to Pakistan’s impressive overall performance.

The event attracted 169 runners from 16 countries, all competing in a sport that combines endurance, skill, and the beauty of Seychelles’ natural landscapes. Trail running on the island offers a unique experience through lush tropical forests, granite boulders, and pristine coastlines. Participants navigate diverse and challenging terrains, making the competition both thrilling and physically demanding.

Seychelles’ warm climate, vibrant flora and fauna, and scenic trails through areas like Morne Seychellois National Park provide an ideal setting for both professional and recreational trail runners.
