Who is Mingus Reedus? Son of Helena Christensen and Norman Reedus Arrested

The son of actor Norman Reedus and model Helena Christensen has been arrested in New York City. Police say Mingus Lucien Reedus, 25, assaulted a woman during an incident inside a Manhattan apartment.

Arrest and Charges

The arrest happened on Saturday morning in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. Officers were called to an apartment on West 16th Street at around 8:40 a.m. A 33-year-old woman was found with injuries to her neck and leg. She was taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment.

Mingus Reedus was taken into custody at the scene. In Manhattan Criminal Court, he pleaded not guilty to several charges. These include third-degree assault, reckless assault causing injury, obstruction of breathing, second-degree harassment, and aggravated harassment.

What Police Say Happened

According to reports, Reedus allegedly punched the woman to wake her up. He then choked her and pushed her to the ground. After the incident, he called 911 claiming the woman was taking pills and threatening suicide.

While leaving court in handcuffs, Reedus told reporters the situation was “a misunderstanding.” He laughed off questions about the case but did not give further details. A woman who claimed to be his girlfriend also said the arrest was based on a misunderstanding, but it is unclear if she was the same woman involved in the case.

Legal Defense

Reedus’ attorney, Priya Chaudhry, said the case should not be judged by the prosecutor’s comments. She pointed out that all charges were misdemeanors or less, which she believes shows the weakness of the case.

Previous Incident

This is not the first time Mingus Reedus has faced legal trouble. In 2022, he was accused of hitting a woman during the San Gennaro Festival in Little Italy. He avoided jail by accepting a plea deal and pleading guilty to disorderly conduct. That case required him to attend counseling and stay out of trouble for one year.

The current investigation is ongoing, and Reedus is due back in court in the coming weeks.
