On July 29, 2025, police in The Dalles, Oregon, made a chilling discovery. The remains of Meihong He, also known as “Kiki,” were found inside a storage unit in Klickitat County, Washington, more than a year after she went missing. She was 39 years old.
Authorities revealed the finding in a news release on August 25, 2025, after someone reported a suspicious circumstance to the Dalles Police Department. Detectives and crime teams from several states were then called in to investigate the case.
Timeline of Her Disappearance
Meihong was last seen on May 25, 2024. At that time, she had been living in Montana but was staying with her fiancé in Glenwood, Washington.
According to her fiancé, he dropped her off before leaving for a fishing trip with friends on Highway 14 near Underwood, Washington. She was never seen again after that day.
Her disappearance left her family in shock. Now, with her remains confirmed, her loved ones have finally received the heartbreaking news.
What Happened After the Discovery?
After the remains were found, they were transported to the Oregon Medical Examiner’s Office in Clackamas for autopsy and identification. Investigators began searching for clues to understand how she died and who may have been involved.
Detectives said they have been working across Oregon, California, Washington, Utah, Nevada, and Colorado to follow leads.
A Person of Interest Identified
Police later named Richard Michael Robinson, 59, as a person of interest in the case. Robinson was known to spend time in The Dalles and in Klickitat County, Washington.
On August 25, 2025, he was arrested in Berthoud, Colorado, for failing to register as a sex offender. He is currently being held at the Larimer County Jail while awaiting extradition to Oregon.
Authorities have not yet confirmed his direct connection to Meihong’s death, but the investigation is still active.
