04 September, 2025 14:58

September 3, 2025 – Mandy Teefey, the mother of pop star Selena Gomez, has strongly denied shocking allegations that she snorted Ritalin inside the office of Wondermind, the mental health company she co-founded.

The claims were published in an exposé by The Cut, where anonymous employees accused Teefey of drug use and unprofessional behavior at work. One worker even described her office as a “drug den.” Another alleged they personally saw her snorting a line of Ritalin.

Mandy Teefey Responds

Mandy Teefey dismissed the accusations as false. In a statement, she said:

“I absolutely did not snort Ritalin. These are lies from disgruntled employees with an ax to grind. I started Wondermind to help people struggling with mental health. It is sad that a few lies can be amplified by the media.”

Ritalin is a stimulant often prescribed for ADHD, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

Who is Mandy Teefey? Age

Mandy Teefey was born in Dallas, Texas, in 1976. At age 16, she gave birth to Selena Gomez with her then-partner Ricardo Gomez on July 22, 1992.

Who is Mandy Teefey Husband?

She later married Brian Teefey in 2006. Together, they welcomed a daughter, Gracie Elliot Teefey, on June 12, 2013. Mandy is now 49 years old.

She has spoken openly about her difficult past. In a 2017 interview, she recalled being judged harshly as a teen mom. She also revealed that growing up in a rough neighborhood where gangs were common pushed her to work harder once she had Selena.

Selena has previously praised her mother, saying she “gave up everything” and worked multiple jobs to support her.

More Allegations from Employees

Some employees told The Cut that Mandy Teefey would disappear for days, have emotional outbursts, and even stay at the office without bathing or changing clothes.

Others claimed nurses would regularly come to give her vitamin IV drips, which reportedly contained liquid Benadryl. They said these drips left her drowsy and speaking slowly.

A few staff members even alleged that Selena knew about the situation but did not intervene. Selena Gomez has not commented on the accusations.

Mandy Teefey maintains that the allegations are exaggerated and rooted in personal grudges, not truth.
