What Happened?
According to booking records from the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, Joe Bird, whose full name is Joseph Donald Bird, and his partner Jarrod Martin were taken into custody on September 27. Both men faced charges of domestic battery – simple assault.
Officials confirmed that police responded to a call about a domestic violence dispute at 1900 Davcohn Avenue in Evansville around 8:00 p.m. When officers arrived, both Bird and Martin admitted to being involved in a physical altercation.

The incident report stated that Bird accused Martin of throwing him into a wall while attempting to take his phone. Officers noted that both men had visible injuries and that each acknowledged putting hands on the other.
The two were transported to the Vanderburgh County Confinement Center (VCCC) for booking. Joe Bird’s bail was set at $500, and records confirm he has since been released.
