30 September, 2025 14:26

Actress Nehal Vadoliya has made serious allegations of sexual misconduct against veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai, bringing the Bollywood industry back under spotlight. Her claims have created fresh discussions about harassment, consent, and accountability in Indian cinema.

Who is Nehal Vadoliya?

Nehal Vadoliya was born on December 2, 1993, in Jamnagar, Gujarat. She is an actress and model who has worked in Hindi, Gujarati, and Marathi projects. Nehal began her career with modeling before acting in films and web series.

Her debut film was Gujarati Wedding in Goa (2018). She rose to fame with bold roles in Gandii Baat Season 3 (2019) as Vimla and Mastram (2020) as Nanda. She has also appeared in TV shows like Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and Mangalam Dangalam.

Nehal comes from a middle-class family. Her parents are Rajith and Anitha Vadoliya, and she has two siblings, Priyanka and Jay. Apart from acting, she is active on Instagram, where she often shares updates with fans.

Nehal Vadoliya’s Allegation Against Subhash Ghai

Nehal revealed her experience during an interview with Galatta Plus. She claimed that she once visited Subhash Ghai’s house along with her boyfriend, who worked as Ghai’s manager.

She recounted the moment: “As soon as I stepped out, Subhash ji entered the room. I thought he was going to the washroom, but he came directly towards me. He came so close that I was shocked. His eyes were closed. When I moved aside, his lips touched my cheek. He tried to kiss me, and I told my boyfriend that he was about to kiss me on the lips.”

These statements have brought Ghai back into controversy, as he was also among those named during the #MeToo movement in 2018.

Subhash Ghai’s Response

Subhash Ghai has not directly addressed Nehal’s claims. However, he posted a cryptic message on Instagram which many believe is related to this issue.

He wrote: “It’s the duty of senior experts to help and guide kids in their profession. But today, it’s scary to meet unknown people where they want to be seen in social media with right or wrong statements just for publicity. God bless them. Mutual respect is the first step in building a respectful career.”

The post has further fueled debate, with many calling for a clearer response.

Impact on Bollywood

The incident has once again raised questions about power dynamics in Bollywood, and how young artists are treated in the industry. Many actors and activists have shown support for Nehal, urging for accountability and safe work environments.
