Who was Arthur Jones? All about Super Bowl champion passes away at 39

Former NFL player Arthur Jones has passed away, the Baltimore Ravens confirmed on Friday. Jones, who joined the team in 2010, was known for his positive attitude, hard work, and kind nature both on and off the field. His warm smile and friendly spirit made him loved by teammates, friends, and family.

The Ravens shared their deep condolences with his loved ones during this difficult time. General manager Eric DeCosta expressed sadness, saying Jones’ “big, bright smile and eternal positivity” uplifted everyone around him. He added that Jones was “kind, courteous, and full of love for his family and teammates.”

Arthur came from a family of athletes. His younger brothers are UFC legend Jon “Bones” Jones and Chandler Jones, a four-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots. The cause of his death has not yet been revealed.

A Key Player in Ravens’ Super Bowl Victory

Jones had an impressive career after being drafted in the fifth round in 2010 from Syracuse University. His best season came in 2012-13, when he made 8.5 of his 10 career sacks and played a major role in the Ravens’ Super Bowl XLVII win against the San Francisco 49ers.

He even sacked quarterback Colin Kaepernick before the famous Superdome blackout and recovered a key fumble in that game.

Over his seven-year NFL career, Jones played for the Ravens, Indianapolis Colts, and Washington Commanders, finishing with 173 tackles and 10 sacks in 64 games. At Syracuse, he was a standout player, setting a school record with 38.5 tackles for loss as a defensive lineman.

Arthur Jones will be remembered not only as a champion on the field but also as a man with a big heart and lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
