Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot on September 10, during an event at Utah Valley University. His tragic death sent shockwaves across conservative circles. In the weeks following his assassination, Candace Owens has raised suspicions about internal conflicts, especially involving Kirk’s stance on Israel and tensions with major donors.
Candace Owens Reveals Group Chat Screenshots
On October 7, the anniversary of the Hamas attack, Owens posted screenshots from a group chat containing Kirk and nine TPUSA affiliates. She reported that Kirk appeared frustrated about losing a key donor after refusing to cut ties with Tucker Carlson.
Although Owens initially withheld names, she later confirmed that Josh Hammer was part of the conversation. One of Hammer’s alleged messages read: “This might feel good short term, but it’s not good long term in my opinion.”
According to Owens, Hammer sent this to Kirk after discussions about bringing Owens in to replace Carlson. TPUSA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet confirmed the messages were real, adding that Kirk’s views on Israel were “complicated and nuanced.”

Journalist Yashar Ali responded by explaining Hammer had been referring to the Iryna Zarutska murder case, not Kirk. But Owens rejected that explanation, saying there was no evidence Hammer was speaking about that case.
Owens Claims Fear for Her Safety
Owens later warned that if anything happens to her, private documents and communications with major figures—including Tucker Carlson, Andrew Tate, and Dave Rubin—should be released.

Meanwhile, Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old Utah resident, has been arrested and charged with Kirk’s murder. If found guilty, he could face the death penalty.
