Who Is Mahogany Jones? All About Deebo Samuel’s Girlfriend & Their Life Together

Mahogany Jones has stood beside NFL wide receiver Deebo Samuel throughout his professional journey — including his recent move to the Washington Commanders.

Samuel, who previously played for the San Francisco 49ers, joined the Commanders in March 2025. The couple has been together since 2019, the same year Samuel entered the NFL.

While Samuel built his name on the field, Jones pursued her own entrepreneurial path. She launched a clothing brand called Shades of Mahogany before shifting careers to modeling, influencing, and later, real estate. Today, she continues to share glimpses of her life with nearly 275,000 Instagram followers.

Two years into their relationship, Jones and Samuel welcomed their son, Tyshun Raequan Samuel Jr., in 2021. Jones often features her family on social media, posting moments from their life together. In December 2023, she shared a video from one of their date nights that included a heartfelt card from Samuel reading, “Mahogany, you are my happy place. I love you so much.”

She Founded a Fashion Brand

After graduating from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Jones launched her clothing line Shades of Mahogany, showcasing herself as the model for her own pieces. The brand offered items such as swimwear and loungewear, but it has been inactive since 2021. Despite this, Jones has maintained her love for fashion and frequently posts her personal style online. She now appears to work as a real estate agent in North Carolina.

She and Samuel Share a Son

Jones and Samuel welcomed their son, Tyshun, on December 27, 2021. Samuel announced his birth through a series of Instagram photos captioned, “I Got You Forever🤞🏾💙.”

In a November 2022 interview with USA Today, Samuel reflected on how fatherhood changed him:

“I definitely have more patience now than I’ve ever had before. But, you know, my son comes first before anything else,” he said. “My top priority is to ensure that he has a better life than I did growing up and just make sure he has not another worry on this earth.”

Her Boyfriend’s Excitement Eased Her Pregnancy Fears

In The Deebo Samuel Documentary by Overtime SZN (2022), Jones shared that Samuel’s enthusiasm helped calm her nerves when she discovered she was pregnant.

“When I found out I was pregnant I was nervous. I was scared, but he was so excited,” she said. “He said, ‘I want him to be my little Deebo. He needs to be just like me. I can’t wait to dress him. We gonna dress like twins.’ ”

Samuel also described how fatherhood transformed his daily life:

“My first Father’s Day, it was a feeling I’d never felt before coming down the stairs seeing the baby [and] Mahogany,” he said. “You’ve got to have patience being a father. There’s going to be times that you come home dead tired — but you’ve got to feed him, bathe him, tend to the baby.”

She Attends Samuel’s Games — Often with Their Son

Jones frequently supports Samuel from the stands, often bringing their son along. On December 3, 2023, when Samuel recorded the first three-touchdown game of his career, Jones documented her excitement on TikTok, captioning her video, “3 touchdowns is crazyyyyy 😭❤️💛 #49ers #49ersvseagles #nflfootball #nflgirlfriend.”

She and Samuel also post photos of Tyshun attending his father’s games. In October 2023, Jones shared an Instagram picture of Tyshun with the caption “NBF 🖤,” short for “Nothing But Family.”

Jones revealed in the documentary that Samuel considers Tyshun his good luck charm.

“Deebo says he wants him at every game. That’s going to be his good luck charm … he feels like this year is going to be insane,” she said. “Like y’all are made for each other — when [Tyshun] sees Deebo, he doesn’t want to go to anybody else.”

She Was Stunned by Samuel’s Contract Offer

After several successful seasons with the 49ers, Samuel received a three-year, $73.5 million contract extension in 2022, with $58.1 million guaranteed. In The Deebo Samuel Documentary, Jones admitted that she was astonished by the deal.

“When he told me the offer, I’m like, ‘You lying. No, you’re lying,’ and he was like, ‘No, I’m serious,’ ” she recalled. “I said, ‘We knew this day was coming,’ but to actually see it … we just both sat back and was like, ‘Wow.’ ”

She Enjoys Spending Time with His Family

Jones shared in the documentary that she enjoys playing card games with Samuel’s family, though she noted that his competitive streak extends beyond the field.

“We always playing card games … we take every game so serious,” she said. “Deebo hates to lose. Like, if he loses a football game, we all agree not to talk to him … even with card games he wants to win everything.”

Samuel joked that he assumes others must be cheating if they beat him. Jones added that despite his competitiveness, she feels completely at home with his family.

“I love all of them. They feel like home,” she said.
