Veteran Hong Kong actor Benz Hui, whose real name was Hui Shiu-hung, passed away in the early hours of October 28, 2025, at the Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital. The news was confirmed by his close friend and TV host Luisa Maria Leitao, who revealed that the 76-year-old actor died of multiple organ failure caused by cancer.

Benz Hui’s Final Days In Hospital

Hui’s health condition was made public on Monday afternoon, and soon after, several celebrities rushed to visit him. Stars like Michael Miu, Jaime Chik, Raymond Lam, Bosco Wong, Ron Ng, Alice Fung, Patrick Tam, and Roger Kwok came to show their support.

Leitao shared that Hui was surrounded by his loved ones during his final moments. She also mentioned that his family will handle the funeral arrangements and release an official statement later.

“Hui was surrounded by many family members and friends. His family is deeply thankful to everyone who visited or called to check on him,” said Leitao.

Who Was Benz Hui’s Wife?

Benz Hui married Angeli Hui, also known as Yin-yi Lung, in 1992. The couple shared a strong bond for over three decades. They have a daughter named Charmaine Hui, and Benz was also a stepfather to Angeli’s son from her previous marriage.

Over the years, the couple maintained a private family life, often staying away from the media spotlight. However, they appeared together on family-oriented shows and public events, reflecting their close-knit relationship.

Their daughter Charmaine Hui is an entrepreneur based in Singapore. She launched her first café, Café Bakeaholic, in Springside Green in December 2020. Later, she expanded with another outlet at Wheelock Place and opened Juju Café, a modern Hong Kong-style eatery, in 2022.

Benz and Angeli supported all of Charmaine’s business ventures financially and emotionally. However, in March 2024, Charmaine decided to close Juju and one Café Bakeaholic branch to focus on her marriage. Benz confirmed that she had moved to Hong Kong with her husband, Shane Sim, and planned to resume business later.

The original Café Bakeaholic outlet remains open and continues to operate successfully.

Benz Hui began his acting journey in the 1970s and became one of Hong Kong’s most respected TVB stars. He appeared in over 165 films, including Running Out of Time, Love Undercover, Breaking News, Exiled, and Rob-B-Hood.
