Who is Wayne Broadhurst’s Wife? GoFundMe Raises Over $8,000 After UK Dog Walker’s Death

29 October, 2025 15:06

The tragic death of Wayne Broadhurst, a 49-year-old dog walker and garbage collector from Uxbridge, West London, has shocked the entire community. Wayne was stabbed to death on Monday evening, October 27, while walking his dog near Midhurst Gardens.

Emergency services rushed to the scene around 5:00 p.m., but despite efforts from paramedics, Wayne was pronounced dead at the scene. Police confirmed that two others were also injured — a 45-year-old man, who remains in critical condition, and a 14-year-old boy, who suffered non-life-threatening wounds.

GoFundMe campaign launched by Wayne Broadhurst’s partner Ann Newman

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up by Ann Newman, who described herself as Wayne Broadhurst’s partner. The fundraiser was launched to help with funeral costs and has already raised over $8,000 in less than 24 hours.

“Hi, my name is Anne and I’m in need of help due to the sudden murder of my beloved partner who died while walking his dog,” she wrote in the campaign description.

Hundreds of people have donated, leaving heartfelt messages and prayers for Wayne’s family. Many praised him as a kind, peaceful, and helpful man who was deeply loved by everyone in the neighborhood.

Community gathers to honor Wayne

On Tuesday night, nearly 100 residents gathered at Midhurst Gardens for a candlelight vigil. People brought flowers, candles, and notes to pay tribute to Wayne.
“Everybody’s frightened,” said one local resident. “It’s frightening it’s right on our doorstep.”

Neighbors said Wayne often took his dog out for evening walks and worked as a bin man for the local council. One emotional neighbor told the BBC, “He walked past my window every evening. If he was just five or ten minutes later, maybe this wouldn’t have happened.”

The suspect and police investigation

According to the Metropolitan Police, a 22-year-old Afghan national was tasered and arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

The Home Office later confirmed that the suspect entered the UK in 2020 by lorry, was granted asylum in 2022, and is not currently living in Home Office accommodation.

Witnesses said they saw officers shouting “Drop the knife!” several times before using a taser to stop the attacker. One witness told LBC, “They must have given him four or five warnings before tasing him.”

Reports suggest Wayne may have tried to intervene in an ongoing altercation before being fatally attacked.

Wayne Broadhurst trends on X as tributes pour in

As the investigation continues, “Wayne” began trending on X (formerly Twitter) as thousands of users shared their condolences and demanded justice.

The Metropolitan Police have appealed to anyone with information or footage from the scene to come forward to help with the ongoing investigation.
