Who is Xochitl Gomez? All About the Actress Joining Boston Blue as a Recurring Star

Former Marvel star Xochitl Gomez is stepping into the world of Boston Blue, the spinoff of Blue Bloods. The Dancing with the Stars winner will play a recurring character named Penny, who is expected to become a romantic interest for Sean Reagan. Her arrival will reportedly bring new twists to the lives of both Sean and his father, Danny Reagan.

Boston Blue Story So Far

Boston Blue premiered in October 2025 and continues the story of NYPD detective Danny Reagan, played by Donnie Wahlberg. After his son Sean joins the Boston Police Department as a rookie and gets injured on duty, Danny transfers to Boston to support him. Together, they work on solving crimes while rebuilding their father-son bond.

The show also stars Sonequa Martin-Green as detective Lena Silver, who works alongside Danny. The Silver family is shown to have deep legal connections, and Lena’s younger brother Jonah (played by Marcus Scribner) works as Sean’s fellow rookie.

Other cast members include Ernie Hudson, Gloria Reuben, and Maggie Lawson.

Who Is Xochitl Gomez?

Born in California, Xochitl Fiona Gomez-Deines began her acting journey at a young age. She started in musical theatre, performing in more than 20 full-length plays before she turned 13. She also appeared in commercials and took martial arts classes to improve her acting skills.

Her TV debut came with Disney’s Raven’s Home, followed by appearances in You’re the Worst, Gentefied, and The Baby-Sitters Club. In 2023, she gained national attention after winning Dancing with the Stars season 32, partnering with Valentin Chmerkovskiy.

In films, Gomez is best known for playing America Chavez in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. She is expected to return as the same character in Avengers: Doomsday. Her other projects include Ursa Major, Dog Years, and a voice role in The Cat in the Hat.

According to TV Line, Gomez’s character Penny is a charming but mysterious woman with a troubled past. She is set to make her first appearance on November 21, 2025.

Penny’s story will connect closely with Sean Reagan (played by Mika Amonsen), hinting at a possible romance. However, her dark history may bring unexpected challenges for Sean, Danny, and Lena.

The number of episodes featuring Penny has not yet been revealed, but her storyline is expected to grow over future seasons.
