Filipino actress and model Gina Lima was found unconscious in her Quezon City apartment and later pronounced dead at Quezon City General Hospital. She was 23 years old. According to reports, her ex-boyfriend and influencer Ivan Cezar Ronquillo discovered her and brought her to the hospital.

Ronquillo told police that he and Gina had been separated for three years but he had recently visited her. Early in the morning, he noticed she was unresponsive. Hospital officials stated that the cause of death was “cardio-respiratory distress.”

Gina Lima was known for her work on VivaMax, a Filipino adult streaming platform. She also appeared in the 2018 film My Fairy Tail Love Story. On social media, she had over 1.4 million TikTok followers, more than 440,000 on Facebook, and over 181,000 on Instagram.

Following news of her death, speculation spread online. Some friends claimed they had noticed bruises on Gina’s body in the past and alleged that Ronquillo had physically abused her. These claims, however, remain unverified. Netizens expressed concern and urged others to leave abusive relationships. However, investigators from Quezon City’s CIDU reported that Gina’s body showed no bruises or signs of strangulation. Police confirmed that the ex-boyfriend is in custody but has refused interviews. Edison Ouano, chief of CIDU, stated that an autopsy will be performed if foul play is suspected.

Gina’s last social media post, made on November 15, 2025, showed her dancing to Taylor Swift’s song Opalite. Fans have expressed condolences online and started the hashtag #justiceforginalima, with some sharing black ribbon images in her honor. The investigation into her death is ongoing, and authorities continue to gather evidence to determine the exact cause.
