Who Is Bridget Condon? NFL Reporter Sparks Online Frenzy After Posting Photo With Chad Ochocinco to Clap Back at Ex
On Friday night (November 28), NFL reporter Bridget Condon ignited social media after posting a selfie with former football star Chad Ochocinco — a photo she used to take a pointed jab at an ex-boyfriend. In her post, Condon reflected on her early attempts to break into sports reporting and noted how the man she was dating at the time urged her to give up her ambitions and move in with him because he didn’t think she would succeed.
Since that former partner happened to be “a huge Ochocinco fan,” Condon shared the selfie as a calculated callback, ending her tweet with a sharp line that quickly captured the internet’s attention. The post exploded online, earning over 3.8 million views and more than 12,000 likes, with commenters applauding her confidence and the poetic nature of the moment.
According to the NFL’s official website, Condon attended James Madison University after high school, where she completed a double major in Media Arts & Design—focused on journalism—and Spanish. She graduated in 2015 and then continued her studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, concentrating on Digital Communication.
Condon began her professional media career at WCAV-TV in Charlottesville, Virginia, taking on roles as a sports anchor and reporter. After two years there, she moved to North Carolina and joined WTVD-TV in Durham, where she spent four years covering both local and professional sports. In October 2021, she transitioned to the NFL media network. Her responsibilities now span field reporting, on-air updates, and contributions across various NFL platforms.
Athletic Roots and the Influence of Her High School Years
Long before becoming a sports journalist, Condon was deeply involved in athletics at Holliston High School. She competed in lacrosse, field hockey, and winter track as part of the school’s Panther teams.
Speaking to Net Football Journal, she described how her enthusiasm for football was shaped by Friday nights in Holliston, recalling that she felt fortunate to attend a high school with a strong football tradition and a close-knit community.
She also reflected on a formative moment from her sophomore year—the death of student Joey Larracey—and how the candlelight vigil at Holliston High revealed the uncommon unity of her hometown. Condon noted that even in college conversations, she rarely found others who had experienced a similar sense of collective support.
She credits those years with steering her toward a future in sports media, shaping both her passion for athletics and her drive to pursue a career in sports journalism.
