Who is Paige Shiver? Was she behind Sherrone Moore’s firing?

The internet is filled with discussions about former Michigan Wolverines head coach Sherrone Moore, who was fired on December 10, 2025. Officials claimed he was involved in an “inappropriate relationship” with a woman connected to the football program. Since then, people online have been trying to figure out who the woman might be.

Sherrone has been married for ten years and is the father of three, which has added even more attention to the situation. Some reports have suggested that the woman involved could be Paige Shiver.

Who Is Paige Shiver?

Paige Shiver is a staff member in the University of Michigan athletic department. She worked as the executive assistant to former head coach Sherrone Moore. Her name has come under the spotlight after unverified online rumors linked her to the “inappropriate relationship” that led to Moore’s firing.

Paige joined the University of Michigan in November 2021 as the On-Campus Recruiting & Football Operations Coordinator. In February 2024, she was promoted to executive assistant shortly after Sherrone became head coach.

Paige is a graduate of Purdue University and has experience in nonprofit management. She previously worked with the Muscular Dystrophy Association in marketing and fundraising. She is also the daughter of longtime Chicago Bears scout Jeff Shiver.

Although many people online are claiming Paige was involved with Sherrone Moore, there is no official confirmation from the university or any authorized source that she had an extramarital relationship with him.

Paige Shiver Goes Offline After Rumors

After her name started spreading on social media, reports say Paige made her Instagram private and deactivated her accounts on X (Twitter) and LinkedIn on December 10, 2025.

This appears to be a response to the heavy online attention she has received. Neither Paige nor Sherrone has made any public statement addressing the rumors about their alleged “inappropriate relationship.”

University of Michigan’s Statement on Sherrone Moore’s Firing

The University of Michigan fired Sherrone Moore after an internal investigation found “credible evidence that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member.” The university called this behavior a “clear violation of University policy.”

Athletic Director Warde Manuel said that Sherrone was terminated for “cause,” meaning the university is not required to pay the remaining USD 12.3 million on his contract. The university did not identify the staff member involved.

Sherrone Moore Arrested After His Firing

Just hours after he was removed from his position, Sherrone Moore was reportedly arrested. Police in Saline, Michigan detained him and handed him over to Pittsfield Township Police for an investigation into possible charges related to an incident involving a staff member. No official charges have been announced yet.

Following his removal, Biff Poggi has been appointed interim head coach for the upcoming Citrus Bowl game against Texas.
