11 December, 2025 11:57

Frank Cozzolino, the Toronto-based electrician known for his appearances on HGTV’s Holmes on Homes and its spinoff shows, has died at the age of 56. Cozzolino passed away on December 4, 2025, following sudden health complications, according to his Holmes on Homes co-star Mike Holmes.

Cozzolino, who founded Solutions Electrical, earned recognition not only for his television appearances but also for his successful business, described in his obituary as “a testament to his hard work and perseverance.” He is survived by his partner, Lisa, and daughters, Filomena and Alexandria.

Mike Holmes paid tribute to his longtime friend and colleague on Instagram, reflecting on Cozzolino’s professional skills and warm personality: “I am devastated by the passing of my good friend Frank Cozzolino. Frank made us better. His impact will live on in every home he helped. Frank could walk into the toughest electrical disaster, crack a joke in his style, and suddenly the whole room felt lighter. That’s just who he was.”

Holmes added that Cozzolino was deeply passionate about helping homeowners and that he will be greatly missed by friends, family, and fans alike. In a separate Instagram reel posted on December 9, 2025, Holmes revealed that Cozzolino had been dealing with health issues for several years: “Frank has gone through hell. I mean, he had a liver six years ago, that liver failed, he had to go in and get another liver.”

Holmes recounted that at the time, Cozzolino’s survival was uncertain: “It was touch and go; we thought for sure that he wasn’t going to make it, and he came back. And all of a sudden, due to complications, he passed away on Dec. 4.”

Reflecting on their long history, Holmes shared memories from the early days of Holmes on Homes: “Approximately 25 years ago, on the very first day of filming Holmes on Homes — it was a brand new show — at the end of the day, in walked an electrician. His name was Frank Cozzolino.”

Holmes recalled Cozzolino’s commitment to helping homeowners, even when the show was just starting and funds were limited: “he wanted so much to help the homeowners we were about to help. I said to him, ‘We don’t have the money. Can you help me help these people?’ He said, ‘Yes.’”

Frank Cozzolino is remembered not only for his technical expertise but also for the warmth and humor he brought to every home he worked in, leaving a lasting legacy both on television and in the lives of the families he helped.
