Body of martyred President Raisi shifted to Mashhad

The body of Shaheed Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi has been brought to the city of Mashhad, where millions of people are present to pay their respects.

According to Iranian media, the family of Iran’s President Ibrahim Raisi has arrived at Mashhad airport a few minutes ago to attend his funeral prayer.

Iran’s Interior Minister Ahmed Vahidi has also reached Mashhad with his colleagues to attend the funeral ceremony.

Shaheed Raisi’s funeral prayer will be offered today (Thursday) at 2 o’clock in Mashhad, Khorasan Rizvi province, while the body of Shaheed president will be buried this evening on the premises of holy shrine of Imam Reza (A.S.).

Mourning and rallies are ongoing across Iran and millions of mourners have come to the streets to pay their last respects to the helicopter crash victim of the Iranian president and his associates.

President Ebrahim Raisi and his delegation, including Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdolhian, were returning from a ceremony to inaugurate a dam project on the border with Azerbaijan on Sunday when their helicopter crashed in mountainous region.
