Karachiites get ready as electricity is likely to get more expensive for the citizens as K-Electric submitted a request to jack up power tariff.
As per details, K-Electric submitted a request to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to increase the price of electricity by 51 paise per unit.
K-Electric’s request to increase the price of electricity has been submitted in the form of fuel charges adjustment for August.
Approval of K-Electric’s application in NEPRA will put a burden of more than Rs100 crore on consumers.
Nepra is yet to take a decision on K-Electric’s July fuel charges adjustment, K-Electric has also sought an increase of Rs3.9 per unit for July adjustment.
Nepra will hear KE’s request to increase the price per unit of electricity on October 3.
