PIA’s fate to be decided today

The long-awaited privatization of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is scheduled to finalize today (Thursday) with the last bidding round.

According to report, both the submission and opening of bids will occur at the same time in a private hotel.

The overall privatization process will strictly follow regulatory guidelines and legal requirements.

Moreover, new conditions from prospective buyers have emerged, particularly regarding the airline’s employees, as government enters final phase to privatise the national carrier.

The Privatisation Commission, only the Blue World City consortium has submitted the necessary advance payment among the six potential bidders.
