Gold prices in Pakistan reach all-time high
Gold Hits Record High as Prices Rise by Rs10,000 Per Tola - Check New Rates
Gold prices in Pakistan hit a new all-time high on Friday, mirroring global price increases. In the local market, the price of gold per tola climbed by Rs1,500, reaching Rs291,800.
Similarly, the price of 10-gram gold rose by Rs1,286, settling at Rs250,171, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
This surge follows a rise on Thursday, when gold prices increased by Rs1,600, reaching the previous record of Rs290,300. Meanwhile, silver prices remained steady at Rs3,300 per tola.
The international price of gold also saw an uptick on Friday, reaching $2,792 per ounce, a rise of $14 from the previous day.
The global increase is attributed to heightened concerns over US tariffs and the approaching release of a key inflation report. Spot gold was up 0.1% at $2,797.48 per ounce, marking a near-record high of $2,799.71 earlier in the session.
Global concerns over US tariffs, particularly following President Donald Trump’s announcement of a 25% tariff on imports from Mexico and Canada, have fueled investor demand for gold as a safe-haven asset.
