NEPRA announces cut in electricity prices across Pakistan

06 March, 2025 22:05

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced a reduction in electricity tariffs under the monthly fuel charge adjustment (FCA).

Notifications issued on Thursday detailed revised power rates for K-Electric (KE) and other distribution companies.

As per NEPRA, KE consumers will receive a Rs3 per unit reduction based on the December 2024 adjustment, while the rest of the country will see a Rs2.12 per unit decrease, reflecting the January 2025 adjustment.

The revised tariffs will be applied to electricity bills for March 2025.

The tariff reduction does not apply to lifeline consumers, domestic users consuming up to 300 units, prepaid customers, agricultural connections, or electric vehicle charging stations.

However, domestic consumers with Time of Use (ToU) metres will benefit from the lower rates, regardless of usage.
