Major power tariff cut on cards for Karachi
Karachi power consumers are set to get a big relief as K-Electric (KE) has filed another petition for tariff cut with the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).
According to report, the power supplier proposed a Rs4.84 per unit refund for utility charged in January 2025.
Under the monthly fuel charges adjustment (FCA), the company wants to refund approximately Rs4.84 billion to its consumers.
The hearing on the KE’s request is set for March 20.
Earlier, the KE sought 4.94 per unit power tariff cut for December 2024.
In February, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that electricity tariffs would further be reduced for domestic consumers and industries through reforms in the electricity sector.
