State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor Jamil Ahmed is likely to be replaced.
The federal government has started considering the appointment of a new governor of the State Bank, sources said.
A president of a state-run bank is likely to be appointed as new SBP governor.
Jamil Ahmed was appointed governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on August 20, 2022 for a five-year term.
The federal government wants to appoint a new governor to improve the affairs of the SBP, the sources further said.
After getting approval from the federal cabinet, the advice will be sent to the President Asif Ali Zardari.
Jamil Ahmed has also served as deputy governor of the State Bank of Pakistan.
