ATM charges in Pakistan 2025 – Check full details
ATM charges in Pakistan are regulated by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), but the fees can differ based on the bank, type of card, and whether you use your own bank’s ATM or another bank’s machine. If you frequently use ATMs, it’s important to stay informed about these charges to avoid unexpected costs.
Free Withdrawals at Your Own Bank’s ATM
If you use your own bank’s ATM — like HBL, Allied Bank, or Bank Al Habib — you won’t pay any fee for cash withdrawals. However, checking your balance or getting a mini-statement might cost you between Rs5 and Rs25, even at your bank.
Charges for Using Other Banks’ ATMs
If you use an ATM from another bank, you’ll usually pay around Rs23.44 to Rs25 per transaction. The State Bank sets these fees, but some banks might charge slightly more.
HBL and Allied Bank Charges
- HBL: Free on HBL ATMs, Rs23–Rs25 on other banks’ ATMs. For international ATM use, they charge 3% of the amount or Rs300 (whichever is more).
- Allied Bank: Free on their own ATMs. Charges around Rs23–Rs25 on others. International fees are around 2–3%.
Daily Withdrawal Limits
Different cards come with different limits:
- HBL’s regular cards allow up to Rs50,000 daily.
- Allied Bank’s premium cards can go up to Rs500,000, while basic cards are limited to Rs50,000.
Tax on Large Withdrawals
If you’re not listed as a tax filer and you withdraw more than Rs50,000 in a day (through ATM or at the bank counter), a 0.6% withholding tax will apply. This is automatically deducted.
Annual Card Fees
Banks also charge annual maintenance fees for ATM cards. These can range from Rs500 to Rs17,000, depending on the card type. Some banks may waive this fee if you maintain a certain balance.
