Metro Bus Fare Hiked to Rs. 100 in Islamabad Starting May 26 – Check Latest Fares
Islamabad metro bus fare hiked to Rs100 across all routes
Metro bus travellers in Islamabad will soon have to pay more for their daily commute. Authorities have announced a sharp increase in fares, setting a uniform ticket price of Rs. 100 per trip across all routes, starting May 26, 2025.
The new fare policy applies to the Green Line, Blue Line, and electric feeder routes. Earlier, the fares ranged between Rs. 50 to Rs. 90, depending on the route and distance.
Officials say this hike was necessary. Rising fuel prices, maintenance costs, and efforts to keep service quality steady led to the decision. Without the increase, they claim the service would have suffered in the long run.
The public, however, is reacting in different ways. Some commuters have voiced frustration, saying the higher fare is an extra burden on their already tight budgets. Others say the change is understandable if it helps keep the buses clean, safe, and on time.
Transport authorities are urging people to support the decision. They promise that the fare increase will go hand in hand with better services and more reliable transport options.
