Chicken meat price cut by Rs.14 per kg

The official price of broiler chicken meat has been reduced by Rs. 14 per kilogram, bringing the new rate to Rs. 432 per kg, down from the previous Rs. 446 per kg.

However, reports from local markets show that many sellers are still charging Rs. 450 per kg, which is above the official rate.

The wholesale price for live broiler chicken has been fixed at Rs. 284 per kg, and the official retail price is Rs. 298 per kg. But in many areas, shopkeepers are demanding up to Rs. 295 per kg for live chicken, ignoring the government’s fixed prices.

Consumers have raised complaints about overpricing, urging authorities to take action and ensure that official rates are followed in markets.
