PSX hits all-time high on first day of fiscal year
On the very first day of the new fiscal year, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) made history by reaching its highest level ever, according to local media reports on Tuesday.
The Hundred Index saw a sharp rise of 1,843 points, taking it to 127,470 points—marking the first time ever the index crossed the 127,000-point milestone. This broke the previous record of 126,718 points set in June.
Trading began on a positive note, with the market jumping 485 points at the opening. Even in the last session, a bullish trend was observed, showing growing investor confidence.
Market experts believe the stock market will continue to perform well in July, as both economic and political stability have improved. The Finance Ministry also shared a positive outlook, expecting inflation to stay at 4% in June.
Overall, the strong start to the fiscal year has lifted investor hopes and signaled confidence in Pakistan’s economic direction.
