Pakistan Refinery Limited Announces Temporary 15-Day Plant Shutdown
Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) has confirmed a planned 15-day shutdown for regeneration, beginning on August 17, 2025. The decision was disclosed in a notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on August 15, 2025.
According to PRL, “the shutdown is necessary to carry out essential regeneration processes” as part of its scheduled maintenance program. During this period, the refinery will remain completely non-operational.
Established in May 1960 as a public limited company, PRL specializes in the production and sale of petroleum products. Operating as a subsidiary of Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (PSO), the refinery plays a significant role in fulfilling the nation’s energy requirements, supplying refined petroleum products to the domestic market.
This temporary halt is part of PRL’s ongoing efforts to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and reliability in meeting Pakistan’s growing fuel demand.
