Air Punjab announces new direct flight routes, ticket prices

22 October, 2025 17:07

In a step to improve regional connectivity and expand travel options, Air Punjab has announced that it will soon begin direct flights from Lahore to Dubai, Jeddah, and Karachi.

According to the airline, ticket prices will be Rs15,000 for domestic flights, Rs40,000 for the Lahore–Dubai route, and Rs50,000 for the Lahore–Jeddah route.

The details were shared by Air Punjab’s working committee in its first report submitted to the Punjab government. The report covers the airline’s financial plan, operations strategy, and launch schedule.

The total cost of the project is estimated between Rs12 billion and Rs15 billion, and the airline plans to lease five Airbus A320 aircraft for its initial operations. Each aircraft will cost around $375,000 per month, which totals about Rs6.3 billion per year.

To attract skilled professionals, the committee proposed monthly salaries of Rs1.5 million to Rs2.5 million for pilots.

Air Punjab will operate under a public-private partnership (PPP) model to ensure financial strength and efficient management. This model is also expected to encourage private investment in Pakistan’s aviation sector and create thousands of new jobs.

If all goes according to plan, Air Punjab will begin its operations by September 2026, marking an important step forward for regional air connectivity and travel infrastructure in the province.
