Govt revises profit rates on National Savings Schemes from November 2025

The Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS) has announced new profit rates for its savings schemes, effective from November 4, 2025. The changes have been made in line with the latest market and monetary conditions in the country.

According to the update, the profit rate on Defence Savings Certificates (DSC) has been slightly reduced by 0.11%, now offering 11.31% per year for a 10-year period.

The profit rates on Behbood Savings Certificates (BSC), Pensioners Benefit Accounts (PBA), and Shuhada Family Welfare Accounts (SFWA) have also been reduced by 0.24%, and these schemes will now give a return of 12.72% per year for a 10-year term.

On the other hand, the profit rate on Regular Income Certificates (RIC) has been increased by 0.12%, now offering 10.92% per year for a 5-year period.

Similarly, Special Savings Certificates (SSC) and Special Savings Accounts (SSA) have also seen an increase of 0.20%, now providing a return of 10.60% per year for a 3-year tenure.

For short-term investors, Short Term Savings Certificates (STSC) will now offer 10.44% per year for three months, 10.30% per year for six months, and 10.64% per year for twelve months. The profit rate on Savings Accounts remains unchanged at 9.50% per year on a running account basis.

In the Islamic savings category, the Sarwa Islamic Savings Account (SISA) continues to offer a return of 9.92% per year. The Sarwa Islamic Term Account (SITA) will provide 9.92% per year for one year, 10.30% per year for three years, and 10.56% per year for five years.

The Premium Prize Bonds (Registered) will continue to offer a return of 2.92% per year, with profits distributed every six months.

Overall, the CDNS has made these adjustments to align returns with the latest economic situation. Some long-term schemes saw small reductions, while others received slight increases, giving investors a variety of options depending on their savings goals.
