PSX surges again as KSE-100 gains over 1,300 points
The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued its strong performance on Friday, as the KSE-100 Index rose by more than 1,300 points.
By the end of the trading session, the index closed at 166,677.69, showing a gain of 1,304.38 points, or 0.79%.
Investors showed strong buying interest across many major sectors. Automobile companies, commercial banks, cement firms, oil and gas explorers, OMCs, and power companies all saw positive activity. Big market players like ARL, HUBCO, OGDC, POL, PPL, PSO, HBL, MCB, MEBL, and UBL also traded higher throughout the day.
This rise followed another strong session on Thursday, when the stock market posted a sharply bullish trend. On that day, the KSE-100 Index jumped by 2,184.78 points, closing at 165,373.31, with all major indices performing well.
In the currency market, the Pakistani rupee also strengthened on Friday morning. The rupee appreciated by 0.08% against the US dollar. By 10:05am, it was trading at 280.33 in the inter-bank market, gaining Rs0.22 against the dollar.
