Islamabad, January 2026 — There is good news for the public as petroleum product prices may be reduced once again in Pakistan, according to official sources.
Reports suggest that petrol prices could fall by Rs 4.59 per litre in the upcoming price review.
High-speed diesel is also expected to become cheaper by Rs 2.70 per litre.
Expected Reduction in Other Fuel Prices
Besides petrol and diesel, other fuel products may also see a price cut:
Light Diesel Oil: Likely to drop by Rs 2.08 per litre
Kerosene Oil: Expected reduction of Rs 1.82 per litre
These possible reductions are linked to recent changes in international oil prices and local pricing calculations.
OGRA to Send Summary to Prime Minister
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will send a summary regarding fuel price adjustments to the Prime Minister.
Any increase or decrease in prices will only take effect after the Prime Minister’s approval. Once approved, the new prices are expected to be officially announced and implemented in the coming days.
Relief Expected for Consumers
If the proposed reductions are approved, it will bring relief to consumers already struggling with high living costs. Transport fares and daily expenses may also see some indirect benefit.
