Diesel prices surge, Petrol drops from Feb 1 - check new rates
People in Pakistan may soon face another rise in inflation as petroleum prices are expected to increase from February 1, 2026. The expected hike in fuel prices could put extra pressure on household budgets.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has completed its review of fuel price changes for the next 15 days. According to sources, a summary will be sent to the Petroleum Division tomorrow for final approval.
Most fuel prices are likely to go up due to rising rates in the international market. However, petrol users may get slight relief, as petrol prices are expected to fall by a very small amount.
Expected Changes in Fuel Prices
High-Speed Diesel (HSD): Increase by Rs. 9.47 per liter
Light Diesel Oil (LDO): Increase by Rs. 6.95 per liter
Kerosene Oil: Increase by Rs. 3.69 per liter
Petrol (Mogas): Decrease by Rs. 0.36 per liter
If approved, the new prices will come into effect from February 1. The increase in diesel and kerosene prices may impact transport costs and daily expenses, while the small reduction in petrol price is unlikely to provide major relief to consumers.
