Pakistan, US Commit to Strengthening Economic Ties in Key Sectors

A Pakistani delegation, led by Finance and Revenue Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, met US Commerce Secretary Howard A. Lutnick at the Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C.

The delegation also included Pakistan’s Secretary of Commerce, Ambassador to the United States, and Trade and Economic Ministers, according to a press release from the Ministry of Finance here on Saturday.

During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to strengthen economic cooperation, focusing on trade and investment. They also talked about the United States’ interest in investing in Pakistan’s ICT, mining, and energy sectors.

The Finance Minister praised the US Chamber of Commerce for organizing the US-Pakistan Trade and Investment Forum on 31st March 2026. The forum will include top companies from both countries and ministerial representation from Pakistan and the US. Senator Aurangzeb also expressed hope that the office of the US Commerce Secretary would take part in the event.

Both Pakistan and the US reaffirmed their commitment to continue working together on major investment projects in the coming months, aiming to boost economic ties between the two countries.
