SBP Announces Nationwide Bank Holiday on March 23

17 March, 2026 09:56

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has confirmed that all its offices will remain closed on March 23, 2026, in observance of Pakistan Day.

According to an official statement issued by the central bank, the closure follows the public holiday announced by the government. As a result, commercial banks across Pakistan will also suspend operations for the day.

The SBP said the holiday will be observed nationwide, which means no banking services will be available on March 23. This includes all SBP offices as well as private and public sector banks.

The announcement is in line with the annual public holiday calendar issued by the Cabinet Division of Pakistan, which lists March 23 as a national holiday every year.

Pakistan Day marks the historic Lahore Resolution, which laid the foundation for the creation of Pakistan. Government offices, banks, and many institutions remain closed on this day to commemorate the event.

Customers are advised to plan their banking activities in advance, as normal banking services will resume on the next working day after the holiday.
