Civil Servant from mountainous area rises to deputy collector rank

Civil Servant from mountainous area
Imtiaz Hussain Shigri, a dedicated officer of the 48th Common of the Pakistan Customs Service (CSP), has been promoted to the rank of Deputy Collector, marking a significant milestone in his civil service journey.
Hailing from a remote region of Shigar, Pakistan, Imtiaz’s path to success has been paved with challenges, resilience, and hard work. After completing his engineering degree in 2014, he worked in the private sector for nearly a year. But life as a bachelor in a big city wasn’t easy. From cooking and cleaning to managing studies and survival, Imtiaz lived the life of a self-made man.
A major turning point came when he met Nazir Ali, Deputy Director in the Commerce and Trade Group and a CSS 2018 qualifier, whose mentorship and support played a crucial role in helping Imtiaz pass the Central Superior Services (CSS) examination in 2019 on his first attempt.
Imtiaz’s inspiring journey—from a remote village background to becoming an officer in the elite Pakistan Customs Service—highlights the spirit of perseverance and the power of mentorship in transforming lives.
His promotion is being celebrated widely across civil service circles and social media, particularly by young aspirants from underprivileged areas who see in him a symbol of hope and determination.
