Contempt of court: Islamabad DC jailed for six months

The Islamabad High Court has sentenced deputy commissioner to six-month term in the contempt of court case here on Friday.

IHC’s Justice Babar Sattar has announced the reserved verdict.

According to the decision, the deputy commissioner was found guilty of misconduct and exceeding his authority.

The IHC has also awarded 4-month sentence and a fine of Rs100,000 to SSP operations while the SHO has been handed over 2-month term and a fine of Rs100,000. However. The SSP Saddar has been acquitted in the contempt of court case.

The DC may file appeal against the verdict within one-month.

It may be mentioned here the deputy commissioner had issued an MPO order for the arrest of PTI leader Sheheryar Afridi.
