Drowning in delusion of so called democracy

The people from various cultures and demographics having chronic issues (especially post-colonial) eventually found democracy or democratic system for their respective societies for all ills of the society till any other profound system can replace the democracy or democratic system.

ٰIn Pakistan democracy has long been chanted for being the sole solution, forgetting that the overwhelming majority of the people live in tightly bound tribal, regional clans – castes, human limitations and restrictions, gender discrimination, religious – sect, ethnolinguistics differences, economic interest clashes and biases for hundreds of years.

This cultural dilemma paralyzed the society although everyone commonly praises the partition of United India as a quick fix.

The battle for getting and sustaining: power, influence, wealth, and impunity has been surprisingly replaced with the deceitful slogans of civil liberities like democracy, religion, state security, identity power, economic development, etc.

The society continuously produced a variety of leaders from all walks of life i.e. religious, politico-religious, dynasty, working class, feudal and tribal, judicial, and military leaders which all exist as ‘ institutions ‘ and pillars of the society.

The leaders globally are the role models who develop policy, devise fair and transparent solutions, shape and influence public opinion, set the tone for the nation, and make decisions that would impact the future of their society.

In Pakistan, however, instead of preserving and respecting people’s rights and responsibilities, the leadership has completely bulldozed the society by aligning people against each other for the Elitist system in the name of democracy, religion, patriotism, and institutions.

Over a million Pakistanis left the motherland last year for the betterment of their lives when ten million already live and work abroad.

It is a timely reminder for us to have common sense in use and have catharsis for filtering out and unlearning the habits, biases, and fundamentals of our personality for living up to as pure humans instead of a tool and ploy of our so-called leadership, which have been operating the state and society affairs completely against the interests of the people of Pakistan, and surely they are not going to quit ruling us with complete impunity. so be watchful.
