In recognition of their services, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has decided to grant golden visa to long-serving imams, muezzins and muftis.

The visa will be granted to those who have served for 20 years in Dubai.

Furthermore, as part of an annual tradition, they will also receive a financial reward during Eid al-Fitr.

Back in March, the crown prince also mandated an increase in the salaries of imams and muezzins serving in mosques under Dubai’s Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department.

The salary increase also recognises the dedication of preachers in overseeing religious affairs.

Earlier, a monthly financial allowance equivalent to 50 per cent of the basic salary for all mosque staff, who are working under the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments (GAIAE), was also announced by the President.
