ECC refers proposed amendments to Electronic Power Act 1997 to cabinet. The Economic Coordination Committee recommended for submission to the federal cabinet a set of amendments. 

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh presided over the meeting in Islamabad.

Ministry of Energy proposed amendments to the Regulation of Generation, Transmission and Distribution of Electronic Power Act 1997.

Meanwhile, officials concerned briefed the meeting regarding the proposed amendments.

Moreover, they aim at bringing more clarity in the market operation, uniformed tariff, timely submissions and determination of quarterly and annual tariffs.

Therefore, ECC recommended that referral of the matter to the federal cabinet.
